Hi, I’m Jay. I’m passionate about helping New Zealanders improve their health and wellbeing through the principles and practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
My healthcare journey began with an extensive 8-year medical training programme in Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine in China, where I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in medicine and practiced as a resident doctor in a public hospital. 7 years ago, I moved to New Zealand and became a registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner here.
My passion for TCM stems from a fascination with the body’s natural healing capabilities and the pursuit of holistic well-being. I believe in empowering patients with awareness and effective, personalised treatments, guiding them towards lasting relief and their best possible health.
I apply a blend of acupuncture and skilled manual techniques for a wide range of health concerns. I am a registered ACC treatment provider focusing on relieving musculoskeletal pain, managing stress and sleep issues, and addressing nerve discomfort.
Fluent in both English and Mandarin, I ensure a comfortable and clear communication space for all my patients, refined through years of clinical practice and teaching at the NZ School of Acupuncture and TCM.
My special interest lies in Traditional Child Massage (Paediatric Tuina). This connection runs deep: my mum once told me how my great-grandmother would offer free massage to sick children in her village. This family legacy, combined with my professional training, inspires my approach. I use gentle, tailored techniques to support children with common health issues like digestive imbalances, sleep disorders, and immune support, encouraging their natural development. Parents often find this a comforting and effective approach for their little ones.
Outside the clinic, I’m a big fan of creative coffee. I love exploring the diverse cafes and finding inspiring baristas along Mt Eden Road. I also regularly organise peer learning sessions within AcupunctureNZ; I learn so much from these exchanges with colleagues. I believe in a balanced life, where nurturing both body and mind is key to long-term health.
I look forward to supporting your health journey at Stillpoint Osteopaths.
